Here is an excellent quality specimen of brown scheelite from the rare locality of the Tae Hwa Mine, Neungam, S. Korea. This local was a quartz type vein tungsten deposit started in 1902 and closed in 1973, this specimen was collected in one of the last few years it was open! The scheelite has a nice even brown color with a complete (& gemmy) termination and textbook octahedral shape! Generations of growth can be seen in the banding on the base of the specimen on the contact point. This mine having been closed long ago has left very few of these specimens out in the market making them increasingly sought after by collectors!
